J.D. Wilson Huskey, 66, of Granite Falls, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, at his home.
Born Aug. 13, 1944, in Maryville, Tenn., J.D. was a son of the late Jesse Earnest and Jessie Hazel Moore Huskey. J.D. worked as a molder operator in the furniture industry for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a carpenter and enjoyed building things.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Huskey; and several brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Tripplett Huskey of the Home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela Meadows of Lenoir, and Donna Kay and Larry Guy of Hudson; five grandchildren, five grandchildren, Gabriel Lee Jones, Samantha Jeanette Jones, Brent Jordan Guy, Joshua Ray Huskey and Amanda Kay Bumgarner; he also is survived by three sisters, three brothers, nine grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
A graveside celebration of J.D.'s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Johnny Creech officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the residence.
