Mrs. Dorothy Horning House, 46, wife of Carl F. House, well known Parish business man, died late Friday afternoon at her home on East Main street in Parish after an illness of three years. Mrs. House, a life long resident of Parish, was born in that Village July 26,1902, a daughter of Herbert and Edith Weaver Horning. She received her elementary and high school education in the Parish schools and was later graduated from Oswego Normal school. Extremely active in affairs of her church and community when in good health, Mrs. House was a member of the Parish Methodist church, the W.S.C.S., a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Russell Horning post, American Legion and a member of Parish Grange. She was a past Noble Grand of Wenonah Rebekah lodge, a past president of the Oswego county eight and forty and was deputy town clerk of Parish. Surviving besides her husband is one daughter, Miss M. Carol House, and one son, A. Russel House; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Horning, a sister, Ethel Horning, and two brothers, Elmer and Charles Horning.
Funeral service were conducted from the Parish Methodist church at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Barber L. Waters, Jr., pastor, officiated. Bearers were members of the Oddfellows lodge and Russel Horning post, American Legion. Burial was made in Pleasant Lawn cemetery, Parish.
