Son of Benjamin Allen and Augusta Jane Stubbs Capel, husband of Maggie Johnson.

FLORENCE - Thomas J. Capel, 57, father of Mrs. G. W. Johnson of Florence, died at the later's home Saturday, November 1, of heart trouble. Mr. Capel, who had been a shoe salesman travelling in Virginia, was visiting his daughter and his death came as quite a shock to his family. The body was taken to Bennettsville where funeral services were held Sunday afternoon.

Mr. Capel was born in Bennettsville. He was a son of the late Benjamin Capel of Marlboro and was a nephew of the late Rev. B. G. Covington, a former pastor of the First Baptist Church here.

Mr. Capel is survived by his widow; and four daughters, Mrs. Johnson of Florence, Mrs. L. B. Rogers and Mrs. L. F. Kirby of Nichols, and Mrs. T. H. Nelson of Jacksonville, Fla.

Dr. and Mrs. Kirby, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Rogers came to Florence and, with the other members of the family, accompanied the body to Bennettsville.
