SUCCUMBS TO A BRIEF ILLNESS
Had Lived in Preston Township and Mammen for the Past Forty Years
John Nannen, a pioneer resident of Plymouth county, died at the home of his son-in-law, Ben Borchers, in Liberty township, on Wednesday. He was only ill a few days and succumbed to an attack of pneumonia.
Mr. Nannen was a native of Germany and was 76 years, 10 months, and 25 days old at the time of his death. He was an early settler in Preston township where he farmed for many years. He and his wife later lived in the village of Mammen, and two or three years ago went to live with their daughter in Liberty township.
He is survived by his wife, a son, John Nannen, who lives on the old homestead in Preston, and five daughters, Mrs. Henry Meinen, of Preston township, Mrs. Ben Borchers, of Liberty townhip, Mrs. Fred Haage, Mrs. Harm Kuise, and Mrs. Dieterich Frerichs, of Preston.
The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at the Preston township Lutheran church, Rev. Meyer officiating.
