John Wesley Baines, age 91, of Sweetwater, passed away on Friday morning, May 25, 2018. He was a lifelong member of Beulah Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Niota, where he was the Sunday school superintendent and served on the church board for many years. He retired from the Alcoa Aluminum Company where he worked for 43 years. Preceded in death by his wife of 68 years: Louise Walker Baines, daughter: Evelyn Louise Montooth, parents: Robert Snow and Josephine Fuller Baines, twin brother: Leonard, brothers: Earl, Stanley, and Ray Baines. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: Jeanne “Jen” and Wayne Isbill, of Florida, sons and daughters-in-law: Todd and Janice Baines, of Athens, Sammy and Debbie Baines, of Madisonville, son-in-law: Garey Montooth, of Sweetwater, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Kyker Funeral Homes from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 P.M. in Kyker’s Chapel with Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Interment to follow in the Beulah Chapel Church Cemetery. A special thanks to his care givers: Beth Waddell and Samantha Stephens., Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater in charge of arrangements.
