Joy Jean Nicoli, 82, of Memphis, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

She was born July 21, 1932, in Scotland County, Missouri, to Leo Adron and Bessie Jewel Ketchum Cook.

Joy was a lifelong resident of Scotland County, Missouri. She attended school in Scotland County and graduated from Memphis High School, Class of 1950. She was a member of the 1949-50 Memphis Lady Tigers undefeated basketball team. She attended cosmetology school in Moberly, Missouri and returned to Memphis where she owned a beauty salon and dress shop. Joy was a bookkeeper for Kerr Grain and Seed in Memphis, where she met her husband, Bruce Nicoli. She was also employed by Scotland County Memorial Hospital.

She was united in marriage to Bruce Harold Nicoli on January 25, 1960, in Bloomfield, Iowa and to this union two children were born, Timothy Bruce Nicoli and Kimberly Jean Nicoli.

Joy is survived by her son, Tim Nicoli and her daughter, Kim Nicoli, both of Memphis; a special niece, Linda Larkin and her husband, Larry, of Roseville, Illinois; other nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on December 10, 2003, a sister, Evelyn Cook Lancaster Ewing and her three brothers: Leo Dale Cook, in infancy, William (Bill) Cook and Robert (Bob) Cook.

Joy was passionate about three things: her family, her dog and the St. Louis Cardinals.Funeral Services
