Neal D. Andreasen, 93

Neal Dwain Andreasen, 93, a lifetime resident of Washington County, died at Carter Place in Blair on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014.

Funeral services are pending and will be at a later date.
Neal was born in rural Washington County on May 2, 1921, to Elmer (Jack) and Ethel Andreasen. He graduated from Kennard High School in 1938.

Neal was united in marriage to Audrey Lucille Stewart on Feb. 14, 1941, in Arlington. Neal and Audrey lived in the Kennard and Blair areas their entire married life.

Neal was a lifelong farmer and loved to work. He continued to help family members with farm work until about age 92. Neal was a kind and gentle man and was always happy to spend time with his family.

Neal is survived by his three children and their spouses: Sherrill and Fred Schumacher of Kennard; Marilyn and Philip Lorenzen of Omaha and Roger and Donna Andreasen of Blair. He is also survived by grandchildren: Debra and Ron Depperman, Annette Backhuus, Neal and Niki Schumacher, Libby and Dr. Ben Lashley, Mark and Tori Lorenzen, Andy and Shelly Andreasen, Audra and Colin Oestreich and Karen and Adam Basye; 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Ivan, and wife Marlyss Andreasen; and his sister-in-law Norma Edloff.

Neal was preceded in death by his loving wife, Audrey; his parents; his brother, Charles, and wife Jacke Andreasen; and one grandchild’s spouse, Terry Backhuus.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church in Blair, the Blair Fire Department or Gentiva Hospice.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
