Audrey L. Andreasen, 84, a life-time resident of Washington County, died at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair.

Audrey Lucille Andreasen was born Nov. 23, 1917, in rural Washington County to Jay G. and Nellie (Wilderson) Stewart. She was the oldest of six children and graduated from Kennard High School in 1934.

On Feb. 14, 1941, she married Kennard resident, Neal D. Andreasen in Arlington. The couple farmed in the Kennard and Blair areas their entire married life.

For more than 50 years, Mrs. Andreasen was active in the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a long-time member of the Colby Corner Extension Club, having received a 50-year membership recognition. She was a member of the Fremont Eagles Club and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile. She also donated several gallons of blood over the years. She had frequently served on the election board.

Mrs. Andreasen is survived by her loving husband, Neal, and three children and their spouses: Sherrill and Fred Schumacher of Kennard, Marilyn and Philip Lorenzen of Omaha, and Roger and Donna Andreasen of Blair; eight grandchildren and their spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers and their spouses, George and Donna Stewart of Omaha and Bruce and Norma Stewart of Bloomington, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Joe and Jane Stewart, Jean and Lloyd McCann, and Betty and Vernon Christiansen. One grandchild’s spouse, Terry Backhuus, also preceded her in death.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
