JOE MENKE DIES AT FARGO, N.D.
Former Bow Valley Farmer To Be Buried Friday--Funeral at Bow Valley

Joe Menke, who was born and lived for years at Bow Valley and Hartington, died at a hospital at Fargo, N. D. Monday morning following a several weeks' illness of pneumonia.

The body of the late Mr. Menke arrived Wednesday at Hartington and funeral services will be held from the Bow Valley Catholic church Friday morning at 9 o'clock.

Joe Menke was born 51 years ago at Bow Valley on the farm now occupied by Tony Menke. He grew to young manhood there and farmed for years in the Bow Valley and Hartington vicinities. For a time he lived at Fordyce prior to his moving to Fargo, N. D.

He is survived by his wife at Yankton, S. D. and three children, Arthur, age 22, Clifford, age 14, and Gordon, age 12, all of Yankton. He also leaves a brother, Anton, of Bow Valley, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Sudbeck of Bow Valley and Mrs. Joe Wiebelhaus. One brother, Frank, and a sister, Mrs. Joe Schmucker, of Crofton are dead.
