Elaine Summers Phillips, 90, passed away at her home Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, surrounded by her loving daughters.

Elaine was born Oct. 14, 1923, in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School in 1941.

On Nov. 8, 1941, she married Keith Phillips.

Elaine worked for Caroll's Clothing, doing alterations; at Bangs Office Supply; worked every election; and also worked for the Pocatello Dental Group as a receptionist.

She belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, was a life-long Register for the elections, and was an elementary school "Grandma."

She belonged to the LDS Church and enjoyed many callings.

Elaine loved traveling, sewing, reading, crocheting and spending time with her daughters and family. She also loved her election jobs.

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Beverly Phillips of Boise, Joy (Steve) Fuda of Ferndale, Wash., Jill (Mike) Serpa of Pocatello, and Sharon Wolfensberger of Rigby; sister, Thelma McMurtrey of Ririe; brother, Robert Summers of Casper, Wyo.; and 19 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sue Birkinbine; grandson, Jon Chadwick; and 11 siblings.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at the LDS 6th Ward, 42 Princeton Drive in Pocatello. A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. in Pocatello, and from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday before services at the church. Burial will be at Shelton Cemetery in Ririe.
