Verna G Goforth, 91, died Sunday, August 12, 1990 in the Wellington Care Center.
Mrs Goforth was born April 26, 1899 in Eastland, Texas. Her parents were Henry Smith and Bell Matthews Smith. She came to Collingsworth County in 1905 with her family. She married Frank Goforth, Sr on March 11, 1917 in Wellington. They moved to California in 1941 and came from there to Amarillo in 1950.
Mrs Goforth was a member of the Coulter Road Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Leroy Goforth of Hacienda Heights, CA; Denzil Goforth of Buena Park, CA; and Bob Goforth of Wellington; one brother, Elbert Smith of Fresno, CA; one sister, Ann Guynes of Fresno, CA; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1989; one son, Frank, Jr. in 1918; and by two sisters and two brothers.
