EDITH BLOHM
The funeral of Edith H. Blohm, 79, Martelle, was held May 30, 1:30 p.m., at SS Peter & Paul Lutheran church, rural Monticello. Interment was in Prairie Hill cemetery. Rev. Donald V. Wahlgren officiated.
Mrs. Blohm died May 27 at her home following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 30, 1901 at Langworthy, daughter of Henry and Margaret Siebels Monk.
She was married in August 1936 to Fred Blohm in South Dakota. The couple farmed in Castle Grove township, Jones county, until Mr. Blohm's death June 23,, 1958. Mrs. Blohm had made her home in the Martelle area since 1959.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ella Brokaw of Monticello, Mrs. Lucciel Freese of Alburnett and Mrs. Arthur (Velma) Hinrichs of Martelle; one step-daughter, Mrs. Frieda Martens of Center Junction; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also three brothers, August and John Monk of Monticello and George of California, and four sisters, Mrs. Sena Rickels, Mrs. Augusta Siebels, Mrs. Wilhelmina Soper and Mrs. Anna Brockhohn, all of Monticello.
Casket bearers were Robert Holub, William Ketelsen, Carl Lawrence, Wesley Lawrence, Homer Bunnell and Louis Lerch.
