Orval Nafziger, 101, formerly of Washington and Hopedale, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka.
Orval was born on Nov. 19, 1912, in Hopedale, Ill., to Asa and Lizzie Nafziger. He married Jessie Gottschalk in Minier on June 7, 1941. Jessie passed away on May 29, 2010, in Eureka.
Surviving are two daughters, JoAnne (Gary) Cruson of Nampa, Idaho, and Norma (Bill) Foster of Eagle, Idaho.
Orval was preceded in death by five siblings, Ina Garber, Evelyn Collins, Lucille Bachman, Melvin Nafziger and Willis Nafziger.
He was an appliance technician for Sears Roebuck for many years, yet enjoyed over 30 years of retirement in Washington and Eureka.
