Morley Brenton Robinson, (Robbie) 99 passed away peacefully on June 8, 2014.

He was born in Winchester, Massachusetts, and graduated from Winchester High School in 1933. While employed by Texaco, he attended night classes at Bentley College and graduated in 1939. Shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. While stationed at Fort Belvoir, VA, he met Mildred Mae Tjarks whom he married in 1943. In 1944, he was deployed to Europe where he served with Special Troops, Sixth Army P.O.W. Repatriation Team, as well as other assignments before being discharged in January of 1946.

After the war, Morley and Mildred made their home in Bangor, Maine, for ten years before relocating to South Portland, Maine, where they settled for well over fifty years. Morley was a District Office Manager for Texaco, Inc. before retiring in 1976 after 41 years with the company. In 2012, they moved to an apartment at Langdon Place of Dover (NH).

Morley was active in church work in the various churches they attended, including teaching Sunday school, serving as Deacon and leading various committees. Along with his wife, he was actively involved in Thornton Heights United Methodist Church in South Portland, where they organized and ran the Senior Citizens Fellowship for years.

After retirement, his hobbies included gardening, golfing, and bowling. He also enjoyed seeing the 48 states, Mexico and much of Canada with his wife in their motor home. At age 86, Morley and his wife started class organ lessons. Also while in his late eighties, he got his first computer and from that point on, enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends through Email.

He is survived by a daughter Joan C. Christakis and husband Ernest of Wilson, North Carolina; and a son Dana F. Robinson and his wife Kerri of Berwick, Maine. Morley's grandchildren are Adam and Kristin (Christakis) Sexton, Devin and Adeliz Robinson, Trent and Bethany Robinson, and Benjamin and Ainsley (Robinson) Groen, as well as six great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife of seventy years, Mildred M. Robinson on May 13th, his parents John and Claudia Robinson, sisters, Olive Barry and Claudia (Peg) Clipp, and son Brenton L Robinson.

Loved and highly respected by family, neighbors and friends, he will be sorely missed.

Visiting hours with light refreshments will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick, ME, on Wednesday, June 11 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM. Interment will be at Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland, ME, at 2:30 PM with Military Honors.
