Captain C. L. Bennett died at his home in Kaufman Saturday, and was buried in Mesquite Sunday. The body was brought through Terrell Sunday Morning, and taken to his old home in Mesquite, where he was buried with the honors of the Masonic fraternity, of which he was an honored member. Besides friends and relatives who accompanied his body to that place , the following members of the Kaufman Masonic Lodge honored their deceased brother by paying the last tribute of respect at the grave: W. J. Beck, R. H. Barnett, Guy Spencer, T. K. Broughton, George G. Shaw, Wm. Feagan and Jim Yates. Those who attended the funeral other than Masons were: W. T. Nash, Jack Nash, John Panky and Mr. Mrs. Joe Miller. Mrs. Miller is a daughter of the deceased.
Captain Bennett was well known in Terrell, and had many friends here. He was the father of Mrs. D. M. Weatherford.
