Isabel Martha Beacher, 94, passed peacefully at the Embracing Hospice in Snellville, Georgia, from complications arising from lymphoma, breast cancer, and Alzheimer's disease. Born September 29, 1919 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she was the youngest child of Frank Henry Bury and Katie Isabelle Knerr. Isabel loved to tell everyone she was named "for her two old grandmothers, Isabella Sarah Diehl, and Martha Papenkuhl."

She was graduated from Allentown High School in 1937, and Cedar Crest College in 1941, in which year she became a home economics teacher at Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Isabel met her husband, John Henry Beacher, as teens while serving as Boy and Girl Scout camp counselors in Lehigh county, Pennsylvania. Isabel was the only Girl Scout willing to help care for John's collection of pet snakes. On 29 Nov 1942 they were married in Allentown.

Isabel devoted most of her life to helping people in need as a volunteer at the First Methodist Church of Englewood, N.J.; the First Congregational Church of River Edge, N.J.; and the First Methodist Church of Niceville, Florida, where she moved in 1985. In 1999 she came to Atlanta, Georgia to live with her son until her death.

She is predeceased by her husband who died February 11, 1985; her parents; brother Hubert Bury; and sisters Myra Behringer, Elizabeth Alderman and Adell Stiles. She is survived by son David Beacher, of Mount Dora, Florida; son Jonathan Beacher of Atlanta, Georgia; and daughter Martha Isabel Fisher of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland; grandsons J Scott Beacher of Los Angeles, California; Brandon Beacher of Atlanta, Georgia; Paul Fisher of Prince Frederick, Maryland; and granddaughter Hannah Fisher Cadigan of Mount Airy, Maryland.

The family will hold private services and interment at Grandview Cemetery in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Isabel's name to Alzheimer's Association at https://www.alz.org
