Merritt A. "Bud" Switzer, 81, of 40 Lake St., died Tuesday at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center, Syracuse.
Mr. Switzer was a longtime resident of Pulaski. He owned and operated Switzer's Insurance Agency from 1945 to 1997, was employed by KeyBank as a branch manager from 1968 to 1981 and owned Harbor's End Marina, Henderson Harbor, from 1954 to 1965.
He was a member of Christ the Light parish and Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358 and a former member of Pulaski Lions Club, Pulaski Service Club and Pulaski Chamber of Commerce. He also was a former Boy Scout leader.
Born June 27, 1921, in Pulaski, he was a son of attorney Merritt A. and Jean Muir Switzer. He attended Pulaski Academy, graduated from Manlius Military Academy and attended Syracuse University.
A World War II veteran, he served in the Army from 1942 to 1946.
He married Anne Murtha on Aug. 29, 1942, at Fort Benning, Ga. She died March 22, 1997.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
