John Max Burns, age 87 of Maryville, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014.

He was a member of Walland Methodist Church and was retired from ALCOA.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Jarvis Holland Burns, brothers, Charles Luther Burns, Chester L. Burns, Maurice O'dell Burns, Glenn Wayne Burns and Ell Ray Burns.

He is survived by his wife G. Marie Burns, daughter and son in law Kim and Andrew Southard, stepdaughter and husband Patricia and Frank Williams. Grandson, Benjamin Southard. Step grandchildren, Evan Simpson and Olivia Simpson. Sister, Murriel Burns Maples. Brother, Joseph Harold Burns.

The family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Grandview Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Peggy Meade officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
