He was born October 28, 1851 in Ohio, the son of Ephraim Boring and Sarah Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, and had lived in Jackson County, most all of his life. He was a coal miner there in the area for many years. He was married to Miss Henrietta Baker on August 29, 1875, in Vinton County, Ohio, and five known children were born to this marriage.
Funeral service was held on Sunday, under the direction of A.D. Goddard of Wellston, with interment in Ridgewood Cemetery.
