Funeral services were conducted on Sunday at 2 o'clock by Rev. Marshall at the home of Mr. and Ms. J.B. Feely at Seneca in memory of Miles B. Smith. Mr. Smith had been in failing health for some time and had only recently gone to spend the winter with his daughter, Mrs. J.B. Feely. Mr. Smith was aged 70 years, and was one of the pioneer farmers in this section. In the passing of Mr. Smith, Rockland loses one of its most esteemed and respected citizens. He was long a member of the M.E. church. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, who was Abbie Melat, and the following children: George, of Tippery; William, of Lawsonham; Millard, of Kaneville; Arthur, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Nelson, of Rockland; Mrs. J.B. Feely, of Seneca. Interment was made in Rockland cemetery.
