LeRoy was born in Des Moines on May 14, 1928 to George and Julia (Neihouse) Corbin. Following high school, LeRoy joined the US Navy, faithfully serving his country. He married Carolyn Myer on September 22, 1951 and they made a home for their 10 children. LeRoy worked for Armstrong Tire Company for 39 years and retired in 1988. Following retirement, LeRoy and Carolyn worked together at the Iowa State Fairgrounds from 1996-2001.
He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church and enjoyed family, gardening, hunting, fishing at Spirit Lake and was a well known "fix-it" man.
LeRoy is survived by his 10 children, LeRoy, Jr. (Jean E.), Rodney (Joei), Cheryl Buch, Randy (Linda), Sharon (Jack) Keller, Russell, Ronald, Sr., Bobby (Teresa), Deanna (Don) Briggle and Rick (Diana); 37 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; his beloved dog, Anchor; brother, Donny; sisters, Lorainne Lewis, Shirley Lewis, and Marilyn Schultz; many nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn, brothers, Walter, Gerald "Jerry", George and Norman; sister, Phyllis Jones and two great grandchildren, Paige Miracle Keller and Amir Bilal. -
