Mary K. was born Oct. 3, 1900 to William J and Lula J (Dye) Ludwig.

She graduated from high school, and married Erwal Rosenbaum.

In 1930, Erwal and Mary K were living in Gary, Indiana, where Erwal was working as a laborer in a steel mill.

By 1935, however, the family had moved to Arlington, Washington County, Nebraska. In 1940, the US Census lists:

Muriel (19): dau., telephone operator for telephone co.
Robert (18): son, bussing tables at a café
Richard(14): son
Dale (11): son
Lulu Ludwig (70): mother-in-law

Mary K. Rosenbaum passed away Dec. 19, 1990 in Lincoln, NE.

Services were Monday, Dec. 23 at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home for Mary K. Rosenbaum, 96 of Lincoln, formerly of Arlington, who died Dec. 19, 1996 at Milder Manor in Lincoln. Rev. Lee J. Milligan officiated. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.

Mary K. Ludwig Rosenbaum was born Oct. 3, 1900 in Arlington to William and Lulu Dye Ludwig. She grew up in Arlington and was a 1918 graduate of Arlington High School.

She moved to Gary, Ind. in 1925 and returned to Arlington in 1931, where she lived until moving to Lincoln in 1984.

She was a former member of First United Methodist Church at Blair and a charter member of the Arlington Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She married Erwal G. Rosenbaum Oct. 1, 1919 at Arlington. He preceded her in death April 8, 1982.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Duane Rosenbaum, Robert Rosenbaum, and Dale Rosenbaum; brothers, Roscoe Ludwig, Hobson Ludwig, Earl Ludwig and Clyde Ludwig; sister, Lucille Whitlow and Alma Washington and a granddaughter, Nancy Rosenbaum.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard E. and Charlene Rosenbaum of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., a daughter and son-in-law, Muriel and G. William Wilkins of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Ludwig of Sun City, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Robert E. Rosenbaum, Gerald W. Wilkins, Michael D. Wilkins, Lee R, Wilkins, John Burmeister and Brian Burmeister.

Memorials may be directed to the Arlington Rescue Squad or the donor's choice.
