Sadie R. Burgoyne, 87, of Wausau died Thursday, March 4, 2004, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born May 26, 1916, the daughter of the late William and Louise (Neuendank) Barden in the town of Ringle. Sadie married Ervin Burgoyne Aug. 29, 1929, in Wausau. He preceded her in death in 1970. Sadie worked at Marathon Battery as an assembly line worker. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ. Sadie enjoyed gardening and watching NASCAR events. Most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren and playing cards with them. Survivors include her children, Norman (Mathilda) Burgoyne of Schofield, Gerald (Kathy) Burgoyne of Georgia, and Dale (Jean) Burgoyne of Wausau; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Bertha Kole, Schofield,Catherine Nutter, Minocqua, Edna (Hank) Cherek, Wausau, and Helen Barden, Ringle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ervin; a sister, Irene Clinkunbroomer;and two brothers, Ross Barden and Edgar "Bud" Barden.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, at Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau. The Rev. Stephen Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Wausau.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, March 7, 2004, and again Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. A special thank you to the staff at Marywood Convalescent Center for the wonderful care and compassion given to Sadie during her stay."
