Former Schoolteacher, Julia Gilbertson, Dies

Funeral services for Julia A. Gilbertson, 77 of Birchwood were held Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Brill with Rev. Philip Mueller officiating. Burial was at Cedar Lake Cemetery. Mrs. Gilbertson died Friday at her home.

Julia Harms was born Sept. 28, 1911 in Birchwood and married Kenneth Gilbertson on April 4, 1938 in Rice Lake. She taught in the Rice Lake School District for 39 years. She and her husband farmed in the Cedar Lake area for many years. She was also the Cedar Lake Correspondent for the Rice Lake Chronotype for many years. Mrs. Gilbertson was a member of the Mikana VFW Axillary, Loyal Order of the Moose and Grace Lutheran Church. Her husband died in 1979.

Survivors include her sons, Eugene of Bloomington, Indiana; and Robert of Anaheim, California; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
