Ann D. Rakay
age 100, of Lincoln Park, MI, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in Ypsilanti, MI. She was born November 22, 1912 in Ashland, Kentucky, daughter of the late Thomas Hilary & Sarah Erene (Renfore) Leadingham.

Ann enjoyed playing basketball in high school and was a huge Detroit Piston fan and also loved the Detroit Tigers. She also enjoyed playing Pinochle and was the last surviving member of her Pinochle Club. She was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. She was also a crossing guard for the Lincoln Park schools for over 20 years.

Ann is survived by three daughters Lois Ann (William) Leader of Hemet, California, Donna Jane Rakay of Lincoln Park and Bonita Ellis of Belleville, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters Martha Donaldson of Traverse City, MI and Bess Laveture of Brighton, MI, also numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis Rakay in 1980, son-in-law Ronald Ellis, three brothers Harold, Jack and Russ, also two sisters Mae & Lorene.

Visitation will be 2-8 PM Friday with an 11 AM Funeral Saturday at the David C. Brown Temporary Viewing & Funeral Chapel, 500 E. Huron River Dr. Belleville. Pastor Gordon Moore will officiate. Private interment will be in Woodmere Cemetery, Detroit, MI.
