Mrs. Agnes McMillan

Mrs. Agnes McMillan was born in Belfast, Ont., Canada, Oct. 26, 1849 and died at her home in this city, Nov. 4, 1922.

She was married to Mr. Neil McMillan, Feb. 1, 1871 and immediately moved to a farm near De Soto and adjoining the Cruickshank farm.

During their stay of three years on the farm they developed a great friendship for the Cruickshank family and the friendship of Mrs. McMillan and Mrs. Cruickshank has since been a cherished memory of those early days and when they moved to Blair three years later this friendly relation still continued and when the end came it was indeed a shock to “Grandma” Cruickshank.

Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. McMillan, all of whom have grown to maturity in our midst and who hold the respect and esteem of the community at large. Also thirteen grandchildren have helped to make the world a little brighter.

Mr. McMillan, the husband passed away on July 5, 1901 and since that time, Mrs. McMillan, with the family of children has made this her home and has made a wide circle of friends who mourn her death which came last Saturday, November 4 after an illness of about seven weeks.

The funeral services were held Monday and interment made in the Blair cemetery.

The children left to mourn their departed mother are: Mrs. C. H. Robertson, Margaret, Bruce and Agnes McMillan, all of Blair, Wallace of Calhoun, Mrs. F. M. Halloway of Omaha and Mrs. Fred Dickmeyer of Arlington.

The Enterprise extends its sincere sympathy to these worthy people in their hour of affliction and loss.
