Mr. Gilbert was born in Decatur, Neb. He served as a medic with the U. S. Navy during World War II and was at Pearl Harbor. He was a truck driver.
He is survived by a son, three grandsons; four sisters and five brothers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel in 1958; a son, Michael Gilbert and a brother, Leland Gilbert.
