Mary Elizabeth Basham, 65, of Burlington, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, in Great River Medical Center - Klein Center in Burlington.
Mrs. Basham was born June 4, 1946, in Washington, the daughter of Ralph Eugene and Jauneta Naomi (Snow) Smith. She married Charles Basham on Nov. 12, 1982.
She was a motel manager for various hotels in Missouri, Indiana and Iowa. She enjoyed time playing Bingo with her friends at Westland Manor and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, DiAnn Brown and husband Tracy of Fowler, Ind., and Anita Adler and husband Rick of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Chantalle, Anastasia, and Malcolm Brown, David and Cody Adler, Harry Waymoth and Christopher Murray; two great-grandchildren, Damien and Athena Waymoth; three sisters, Pearl Streets and husband Ronnie of Fulton, Ill., Sue Ann Smith of Maquoketa, and Shirley Whitney of Cedar Rapids; five nephews; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, on Oct. 6, 2008; one daughter, Renee; two grandchildren, DiAnn and David; her parents; and her grandparents.
