William H. Barton, early settler, passed away at the Blair hospital on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the age of sixty-four years.
Deceased was born in Effingham County, Illinois and came with his parents to this county when a boy of twelve years.
He was married to Miss Frances Matthiesen January 27, 1897 and to them four children were born, three of whom are still living.
The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Bader officiating and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
Besides the wife and three children he is survived by three brothers and five sisters: Solomon Barton of Arlington Township; Mrs. Joe Pixley of Ainsworth; Elmer Barton, Mrs. Boone Newkirk, Anna Barton, Lester Barton, Mrs. Sam McGowan and Mrs. Nels C. Nelson, all of this county.
