Mary Alice Russell BENTON HARBOR - Mary Alice Russell, 76, of Benton Harbor passed away early Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at her home. Funeral services celebrating her life will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Harbor with Chaplin Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.florin.net. Mary was born on June 4, 1936, in Hayti, Mo., to Albert and Ida Alsup. She married Vance Russell, and together they had two children, Vance Jr. and Terry. Mary will be remembered as a giving and caring person to whom "no one was a stranger." She was an excellent cook, particularly with Southern cuisine. She also enjoyed country-western and gospel music. Most of all, Mary cherished her family, particularly her grandchildren who "meant the world to her." Mary is survived by her children, Vance Hubert (Tabitha) Russell of Niles and Terry Lee (Trudy) Russell of Benton Harbor.
