Albert Sterling Alsup, 85, a Benton Harbor resident, died Monday in Watervliet Community Hospital. He was a son of Elijah "Doc" Alsup and Sidney Louella Medlock. He married Ida Bell Pillow, 15 Jul 1922, Caruthersville, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife Ida in 1986, his daughter Jimmie Collins in 1973 and his sons Billy Alsup in 1968 and James in 1989. He is survived by five sons, Jodie, Junior, Loren and Ernest Alsup, all of Benton Harbor, MI. and Frank Alsup of St. Joseph, MI; three daughters, Elizabeth Napier, Mrs. Vance (Mary) Russell and Mrs. Franklin (Betty) Voit, all of Benton Harbor, MI; 51 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
