After checking in with Atkinson radio on course at 1223Z, nothing further was heard from the flight.
A blimp-borne aerial search was conducted between Atkinson and Belem but nothing was found of the aircraft or crew.

Last check on course at 1223Z over north east leg Atkinson range. Personnel were members of shipment number FM-070-AQ /Note on MACR 2602: ATC Engineering Officer suggests possibility of fire due to gas leaks as 12 aircraft delayed this station with gas leaks in last 3 weeks.
