ANNA BROCKHOHN
Services were held Jan 11 for Anna Brockhohn, 81, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church in rural Monticello with burial at the church cemetery. The Rev. Gary Hatcher officiated at the services.
Mrs. Brockhohn died Jan. 8, 1988 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness.
Anna Monk was born at Langworthy, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Siebels Monk. She received her early education in the Langworthy schools. On March 20, 1929, she married Carl H. Brockhohn at her parents' home in Langworthy. The couple farmed the Brockhohn family farm near Langworthy. Her husband preceded her in death in December 1961 and she continued to live on the farm until her death.
Anna was a lifelong member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. She was baptized Aug. 30, 1906 and later confirmed her faith on March 20, 1921.
She is survived by two children, Lawrence H. Brockhohn of Anamosa and Darlene Carpenter of Earlville; two grandchildren; three brothers, August Monk of Anamosa, George Monk of Hanford, CA and John Monk of Monticello; three sisters, Sena Rickels, Augusta Siebels and Wilhelmina Soper, all of Monticello
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, and three brothers.
Casket bearers were Garrett Moenk, Donald Monk, Arthur Hinrichs, Lawrence Brockhohn, Ernest Brockhohn and Alvin Brockhohn.
