William Jessie Vinson was the first son born to Nathan Vinson (son of Cassandra) and Abigale Pope (parents unknown).

He married Martha Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ivey (daughter of Andrew Jackson Ivey and Jane Harman) on 30 Dec 1880 in Clarke County. Ten of their thirteen known children lived to adulthood.

William died at son George's house in Meridian on 22 Sep 1927. The obituary says he was from Canton so he and Lizzie would have been living with son Jessie at the time.
