On June 4, 1870, he married Florence E. Reed. They had 5 children: Arthur, Floyd and reed of Lima, Mrs. Edward Sheehan of BG and Mrs, Morgan Newton of Lima. All but Arthur, who died as a child, survive him. His wife died earlier.
Mr. McCauley was a member of the Elks, Toledo Lodge, who conducted his funeral.

CHARLES G. McCAULEY
Charles G. McCauley was born in Stark county, Ohio, May 24th, 1854, and died of apoplexy in Bowling Green at 5:40 Wednesday afternoon, January 14th, 1914.
At the age of thirteen he began to learn the trade of marble cutter and became very proficient, serving an apprenticeship of five years. He worked at his trade for a time in Lima and also at Ft. Wayne, Ind. He ran out of the latter place for two years as fireman on the C.H. & D. Ry. Then he became a commercial traveler for a Lima monument concern which he pursued for two years.
On April 15th, 1877 he established himself in the monument business in Bowling Green. He prospered, as he was a first-class salesman as well as a cutter and finisher of marble. On June 4th, 1879, he married Miss Florence E. Reed. Five children were born to them. Arthur at the age of four years received fatal injuries when he was kicked by a horse. The four living children are Mrs Edward Sheehan, of this city, Mrs Morgan Newton, Floyd and Reed, of Lima. Mrs. McCauley died a number of years ago. He also is survived by these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Edw Steveson of Bellefontaine, O; Will of Indiana; Edward, Frank, George and Burt, and Mrs. Elizabeth Cramer, of Lima.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of Will Cook, No 319 North Prospect street. It was in charge of the Elks, Mr McCauley being a member of the Toledo Lodge of Elks. The sermon was preached by Dr E.E. Rogers of the Presbyterian church. The pall-bearers were old friends of his with whom he was on terms of intimacy at the National Supply store where he often assisted. They are: James DeHart, Fred K'mmons, M.W. Hanifan, F.E. Long, I.M. Taylor and Frank M. Wolfe. Burial was made in Oak Grove cemetery.
