Samuel Rolfe was initially buried in the Old Pioneer Cemetery and to make way for the Southern Railroad right of way the cemetery was dug up and moved enmass to Lehi Cemetery in 1876. Those with no markers were not recorded (as was Samuel) The DUP ( Daughters of Utah Pioneers) erected a marker on the Pioneer cemetery site at State and Center. As was custom in the early days a wooden marker was erected which would not hold up for any length of time , thus many of the deceased had no visable markers. There is no concrete site to place another marker on the ones moved.
