Leroy Charles Auck, age 86, resident of Seven Hills, Ohio died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Parma Hospital.

Born June 1, 1926 in Tiro, Ohio to Roy and Katherine (Cook) Auck he had been a resident of Seven Hills for 52 years. A 1944 graduate of Shelby High School he attended Dyke College in Cleveland. A veteran of the US Army, he served as Staff Sergeant, Anti-Tank Corp during WWII and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts, the Victory medal and the Bronze Star. Mr. Auck was a public adjuster for his company, L. Charles Auck & Associates.

Outside of working, Mr. Auck enjoyed entertaining in his home and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He loved history and was a Civil War buff. He also enjoyed swimming, gardening and animals.

Survivors include his three children, Michael (Kathy) Auck of Marshallville, Pamela Carson of Chagrin Falls, and Patricia (Peter) DeMott of Dayton; four grandchildren, Nathan (fiance', Sara Baldwin) Auck, Sarah, Jordan, and Evan DeMott, great granddaughter, Layla Jones; one sister, Jackie Amstutz of Attica, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Fralick) Auck on March 14, 2010, his brother, Roger Auck, sister, Maryon Cornett Grubb, brother-in-law Robert Fralick and sister-in-law Helen Fralick.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend Russel Yoak, of the First Lutheran Church, will officiate with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Plymouth. Military honors will be provided by the Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Memorial expressions may be made to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, 15610 Vaughn Rd, Brecksville, OH 44141.
