Vesta Calder, 87, a longtime resident of Kennebunk, died February 24 at the Newton Center in Sanford after a long illness.

Vesta was born in Cambridge on November 12, 1925, the daughter of William and Flora (Turner) Cuddy.

After graduating from high school, she came to the Kennebunks to work for the Calder and Hubbard family, where she met her future husband Bill Calder. He died in 1961.

Vesta enjoyed family, friends, crafts and in her younger years, dancing and having a good time.

Survivors include her daughter Susan Inniss, daughter Rebecca Goodhue, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Burial will be in the spring in Evergreen Cemetery in Kennebunk.
