Michael and Katharina KRAUSE with their only child Ferdinand, were among the first settlers of Tarutino, Akkerman, Bessarabia, South Russia in 1815. Michael was very adept and a master at his trade of tanning and working with leather. He also was the mayor of Tarutino from 1823 to 1825.
Katharina KRAUSE died on the 5th of June 1831 at Tarutino. Michael married Maria Schmidt on the 22nd of October 1831 at Tarutino. They had no children.
At age 42, Michael KRAUSE probably died from cholera in December 1831 at Tarutino.
