William Hardin was the second son of Daniel Hardin Watts.

Clayton; Merchant; settled here in 1877; born in Marion Co., June 13, 1834; son of Richard, born July 9, 1805, died Dec. 24, 1869, and Frances West, born April 1811, died April 1853; settled in Henry County, 1827; Marion County 1829. D. H. Watts was married Jan 22, 1853, to Zurilda (Surrilda) Roberts, born Shelby County, Ky., Dec. 25, 1835. Seven children – Harmon, born Jan. 21, 1854, died Jan. 24, 1854; William H., born May 6, 1857; Charles, born Oct. 15,1861; Sample, born April 9, 1864; Cora, born Jan 22, 1867; Dora, born Aug. 4, 1869; Squire, born June 19, 1874.
