My Great Uncle
Mr. Hymes Caffee, 69, of the Mannsville Community in Taylor County, died at the Rosary Hospital in Campbellsville at 7:35 p.m., Thursday, February 9th. Mr. Caffee was a former employee of the State Highway Department here in Taylor County. He was born in Adair County, Aug. 16, 1897, son of the late Wayne Caffee and Maggie Hymes Caffee. He united in marriage to Miss Pattie Phillips, August 14, 1923. She preceded him in death, November 29, 1949. To this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Cosby "Velma" Bohanan of Mannsville. Besides his daughter, he is also survived by one grandson; two brothers and one sister: Mr. Ezra Caffee of Mannsville; and Mr. Morrison Caffee and Mrs. Lillie Byrd, both of Louisville. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11th in the Parrott & Ramsey Funral Home by Rev. Curtis J. Leigh. Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers: Carlton, Barry, Jerry, Garnett and Larry Cox, and Gary Minor.
