Mr. Berry was a native of Ninety Six, South Carolina and graduated from Lander University in Greenwood. He moved to Peach County in the early 1960's and was the Band Director at Peach County High School. He then moved to Milledgeville in 1969 and taught band in the Elementary and Junior High School before becoming the Band Director at the Baldwin County High School until his retirement. He later taught at John Milledge Academy for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents William Pope and Alice Stribling Berry, his wife Jo Ann Fowler Berry and a brother Gary Berry.
Survivors include two brother Danny L. Berry (Joy) and Howard Berry (Patsy) both of Greenwood, SC, a sister-in-law Judy Berry of Ninety Six, South Carolina and a number of nieces and nephews.
