He was survived by his wife, Mary; 1 daughter, Margaret Bradshaw of Bloomington, Illinois; 2 sons; Gene Knipping of South Roxana, Illinois, and Bob Knipping of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren; and 2 brothers, both of Granite City, Illinois.
Visitation was held at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, Illinois on 17 Sep 1974. Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. the following afternoon at the Wanda United Methodist Church in Wanda, Illinois.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the church.
Louis' wife, Mary, later remarried. She died in 1996 at the age of 95.
