Frances Blanche Hayes was born to Alvin Clark Hayes 1873-1934 and Blanche May Harvey Hayes Richardson 6 Apr 1886 - 21 May 1967. She had 8 siblings, including Alta May (Evans), Vera Rachel "Aunt Rae"(Barcus) Alice Genevieve (Mutchie), Andrew Clark Hayes, Gertrude Louise "Lovie" (Reeves), Alberta Ann "Birdie" (DeRossett/Potokar), Lois Lillian (Lutholtz), and Leonard Benjamin Hayes. Frances married Alva Louis Groves 1874-1966 in Colorado around 1929 when she was 14, and had 7 children: Alice Lorraine "Rainey" 1930-2000, Donald Dee Groves 1932-1950, Hazel Louise Phelps 1933-2000, Lorma Marie Marcotte 1935-2015. Ilene May Petty, Audrey Karlene Anderson/Beaupre 1938-1995, and Doris Ann Schade/Neu 1939-2001. It was rumored that she divorced Alva shortly after Alva accidentally shot and killed her only son Donald Dee but I have been unable to find a divorce file in Pueblo where they both lived. She left Colorado in the company of Jim Phye, who she met while working at Pueblo Ordinance Depot; and after several residencies with him, including Missouri, and California, she was last seen in his company in April of 1955 going on a picnic in Palm Springs, California. Frances and Jim were working for a wealthy family in Palm Springs at the time of her disappearance. She is presumed murdered, and listed in NAMUS.com as a missing person.
