THREE ARE FATALLY INJURED WHEN TWO CARS CRASH SUNDAY

Three persons were fatally injured and six other are hospitalized when two cars were demolished in the Lincoln highway two miles east of Abbottstown Sunday about 10 oclock.
The dead:
John H. Allison, 47, Gettysburg R. 3 who died about two hours after the crash in the Hanover hospital.
His wife, Mrs. Lettie Allison, 41, who succumbed at 6:20 o'clock this morning in the Hanover hospital.
Orville Leivant, 14, of 719 West Philadelphia street, York, who was killled instantly. He had a six-inch gash through his skull.
The injured:
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Schlosser, Arendtville, in whose car the Allisons were riding. The Schlossers were described "resting fairly comfortably" at Hanover hospital early this afternoon. Both are listed for X-ray examinations and hospital attaches could not say whether the couple is seriously injured.
Charles Sheaffer, 17, East Berlin, driver of the other car involved in the crash, who has a fracture of the right arm and these occupants of his car: Norma Jean Leivant, 16, a sister of the dead boy, possible fracture of the skull and undetermined body injuries; Joyce Dennis, 17, of 637 West Mason avenue, York, had injury, and her sister, Dorothy, 14, fracture of the left wrist.
TIRE BLOWS OUT
Sheaffer and his companions were headed toward York on a pleasure drive while the upper Adams county couple were returning home from a week-end vacation trip to Atlantic City, police reported.
Private C.N. Croft of the York substation of the state police, who investigated, said that indications are that the right rear tire of the Sheaffer car blew out causing it to go out of control and take a diagonal course across across the highway and into the path of the westbound Schosser machine, The front of the Schlosser car hit the Easterlin machine near the right front door.
Both cars were smashed beyond repair. Private Croft said, and estimated the total damage at about $1,150.
Passing motorists stopped to aid the victims. The Hanover ambulance and the Melvin Sauter ambulanece from Spring Grove rushed the eight injured persons to the Hanover hospital.
CONTINUE PROBE
Private Croft and York county coroner E. S. Stambaugh are continuing their investigations of the tragedy. The state police said he will confer with the York county district attorney. No charges have been yet filed against the surviving driver. The officer said Sheaffer had been driving for only about a year,
Mr. Allison was a son of Mrs. Maggie Allison and the late William Allison.

Jr., Richard L. and Nancy Jean, all at home: two grandchidren, and six sisters, Mrs. Glenn Roth, Mrs. Nellie Nary and Mrs. Norman Singley, all of Gettysburg;Mrs. Ed Sclosser, Arendtville; Mrs. Paul Keller, Chambersburg, and Mrs. Bernard Small, Ohio.
