James Monroe Topper, 81, died suddenly at the home of his son, Walter Topper, Gettysburg R.5, Friday afternoon at 4:14 o'clock from complication of diseases.
Dr. C. G. Crist, Adams county coroner, investgated and attributed death to arterial sclerosis and cerebral embolism.
He was the son of the late James and Lucy (Sheely) Topper. His wife died some time ago.
Surviving are seven children: Howard Leroy, York Springs; Clayton Edward, Gettysburg R.5; Charles Raymond, Gettysburg; Walter, Gettysburg R.5; Mts. John Allison, Gettysburg R.3; Luther, Gettysburg R.4 and Arthur, New Oxford R.D.;33 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, George, Gettysburg, and two sisters, Mrs. Samuel Wherley and Mrs. Susan Stair. both of Two Taverns.
Funeral services Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Allison funeral home, Fairfield. conducted by the Rev. Ernest Brindke, Arendtsville. Interment at Two Taverns.
