Elias Lamb took down sick one week ago last Monday, and died at 4 o'clock on Sunday morning. He was born in Randolph county, North Carolina, on September 24, 1818, and had he lived till the 24th of this month, he would have been 76 years old. He was married to Miss Susan Bish, who survives him, on March 23, 1837. To them were born 10 children - 5 sons and 5 daughters. All are living except one - a son who died in infancy in the year 1844. The deceased had been a member of the U.B. Church for 41 years, and a resident of this county since 1870. His funeral took place on last Monday afternoon, at the U.B. Church, Rev. R.B. Van Allen, his pastor, preaching the discourse, after which his remains were followed to the Thomas cemetery by a large concourse of relatives and there laid to rest.
