GALESBURG - Helen M. Anders, 82, of 1065 Huber Ave. died at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Born Oct. 17, 1920, in Abingdon to Halleck V. and Viola Branson Powell, she married Junior W. Anders on April 24, 1954, in Morrison. He died Feb. 15, 1997. She also was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, three brothers and one sister. Surviving are two daughters, Beverly (and Dick) Stickler of Numa, Iowa, and Patricia Bodenhamer of Galesburg; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild. She had been the fountain manager at the former Kresge's Department Store for many years. She later was an assembler at Maytag Corp. in Galesburg, retiring in 1983. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Daniel Siems will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to any charity.
