Charles Wesley Biesecker, 73, a former farmer, thresher and sawmill operator, died Tuesday morning at 10:45 o’clock at his home in Orrtanna from a complication of diseases.
He had been ill health for the last two years and his condition had been regarded as serious for the last 14 weeks. He had been a patient in the Warner hospital for 14 weeks and was discharged from that institution on January 12.
Mr. Biesecker was a native of Adams County and was a son of the late Nicholas Leander and Elizabeth (Chamberlain) Biesecker. A number of years ago he had engaged in farming and also operated a threshing rig and engaged in the sawmill business. For twenty years prior to his illness he had worked as a machinist for the Orrtanna Canning company.
The deceased was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Orrtanna. For a number of years he had served as a member of the board of directors of the Gettysburg National bank, retiring from the board 15 years ago.
Surviving are his widow, the former Susan E. Cover, to whom he was married 45 years ago; a son and daughter, Howard C. Biesecker, Lemoyne, and Mrs. George W. Naugle, Orrtanna; five grandchildren, and two brothers, John E. and Ira O. Biesecker, both of Orrtanna.
Brief funeral services from the late home Friday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock with further services at 2 o’clock with further services at 2 o’clock in the Methodist church, the Rev. Harold Millard, the pastor, officiating. Interment in Flohr’s church cemetery.
