Mrs. Alline Ruth Adair, age 86, of Rome died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Adair was born on December 28, 1920, in Alexander City, Alabama, the daughter of the late Homer Brown and Eva Colley Brown. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County since 1954 and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Mrs. Adair was also a member of the Ladies 65-75 / 2A Sunday School Class and the Sounds of Praise Choir. She was a loving mother. Mrs. Adair was a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed needlework and quilting. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved square dancing and fishing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Adair, on September 15, 2000.

Survivors include two sons; Gary (Linda) Adair and Kenneth D. (Deborah) Adair, both of Rome; one daughter; Deborah A. (Kenneth) Colston of Marietta, GA; eight grandchildren; fifteen great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Adair will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Stockton officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends at the Oaknoll Chapel tonight (Thursday) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home Friday by 2:30 pm and include the following, Danny Toles, Garland Wade, Doyal Cape, Tommy Stephens, David Axley and David Tharp.
